ABOUT

ED DENNIS

Owner, engineer, guitarist, musician,  luthier of hand crafted guitars and guitar repairs.
-------------------------------------------------------
Ed Dennis has been playing music professionally since 1975.  From California to Virginia, he played in various bands.  From Roanoke, VA where a friend called him to join his band;  to Gatlinburg, TN where he met his wife, Vicki.  Ed met Vince Gill and played in his wife’s band, “Sweethearts of The Rodeo."  After that he went on the road for a year with a band out of Knoxville.
“That kind of traveling will always test you.  Hopefully all of your band-mates are all on the same wavelength- if not, you’ll eventually have to get out.”
Used to moving, as his father was in the Navy, the beach was his next stop.  Here music was put on hold to try his hand at his love of bicycles.
I opened a shop in North Myrtle Beach in 1992 and was doing fairly well until 1998 when a ‘big box store’ opened 2 miles away.  I kept the building and opened a recording studio.”
The studio isn’t the only thing keeping him busy;  he also builds his own electric guitars.  Hand crafted guitars, many in vintage style.  Ed produces five “VIC” signature guitars a year.   His niece, among other happy players, is a proud owner of one.
“I’m having a great time playing in bands around town.  I’m playing music that I want to play, with some great people.  It’s fun, and you never know what kind of material we’ll be playing next.”
